Sacred Stillness:
Hatha Immersion
with Steve
An Ashram‑Style Practice in the Classical Tradition
Join us for a full, immersive Sivananda Hatha Yoga experience modeled on the
traditional class taught at the Ashram. This extended 2‑hour session follows the
classical sequence in its pure form, offering time, space, and depth to settle into
the essence of the practice.
We will begin with Kapalabhati and Anuloma Viloma (alternate nostril breathing),
allowing the breath to purify, balance, and prepare the mind for practice. The
warm‑up will include additional rounds (12) of Surya Namaskar, inviting heat,
circulation, and a steady rhythm of breath‑movement awareness.
The heart of the class will be the 12 basic Sivananda postures, practiced with
longer holds to encourage concentration, relaxation, and a deeper energetic
effect. Each posture will be approached with the traditional emphasis on breath,
awareness, and the cultivation of quiet strength.
We will close with a spacious final relaxation, mantra, and a short prayer,
supporting the body’s integration and the mind’s return to stillness.
This class is suitable for all levels, including those new to Sivananda Yoga, and
offers a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with the roots of your yoga practice in
a supportive, meditative environment.
Date: Saturday, April 11th
